Welcome to the Ars Nova Chamber Orchestra, Washington, D.C.'s first self-conducted chamber orchestra.
The Ars Nova Chamber Orchestra is an innovative 30-member self-conducted chamber orchestra that performs chamber orchestra repertoire applying chamber music techniques. What does that mean? That means the musicians take on the role of the conductor, which produces a highly collaborative and creative approach to orchestral performance and an exciting concert experience for audiences.
The Ars Nova is available for hire for D.C. metro area events and to travel to U.S. and international events, providing ensembles of varying sizes up to the full chamber orchestra of 37 musicians. Fees depend on the number musicians, length of time required, travel expenses, as well as the choice of repertoire.
Repertoire for engagements is chosen to fit the requirements of the occasion in consultation with our Programming Director and Artistic Director.
Please stay in touch and join us at an upcoming concert!
